AESO Underground Study Released

The AESO has released its underground study, determining that below ground transmission for the Heartland Transmission Project is technically feasible, as long as the performance of the cable and its accessories are tested and validated for cold weather conditions.

If you're interested, you can download a copy of the report from the AESO website here. (Be warned: it's 310 pages long.) From what we've heard, the scope of the underground option has not been changed; i.e., burial of the entire line is still not being considered.
