EAST TUC Named Preferred Route

As a welcome surprise for those (many) of us on the west TUC, the Heartland Transmission Project has announced the preferred route to be the EAST TUC and the alternate route to be the West (Rural).

We still believe that this line should be buried near homes and schools and that the perceived cost savings of using yesterday's technology shouldn't take precedence over the future safety and well-being of the communities along the eastern TUC. We would further encourage all Albertans to continue to put pressure on government and industry to act responsibly on this and other electricity projects.
